DIRECTOR & WRITER
Omer is an Israeli director. Between 2013-2016, Omer served as a director and editor in the Israel Defense Forces' (IDF) Spokesperson's Film Unit. Before his service, he studied film at Thelma Yellin High School of the Arts. His pitch for his graduation film THE PENGUIN WHO WANTED TO BE A KID won Third Prize in Israel's Pitching Contest of the Second Authority. Omer has also won First and Second Prize in Israel's Music Video Contest Clip Tzair, for his music videos: "Journeys" (2011, First Prize), "Worried Shoes" (2012, First Prize), "Eliza" (2012, Production Design Prize) and "Always" (2014, Second Prize).
Iris Yang has been producing films and TV shows for 7 years. She graduated from Communication University of China, major in script writing. After graduation, she worked as a TV show host and co-producer in China. Realizing the huge potential of Chinese film industry in the growing global market, she moved to Los Angeles in 2014, to study film in USC School of Cinematic Arts. Currently, she is a second year producing Fellow in AFI Conservatory, and the founder of a film company in Los Angeles, dealing with international productions.
Sydney is a recent honors graduate of the University of Chicago, where he specialized in Cinema and Media Studies and earned high distinction for his thesis research concerning the work of Peter Greenaway and its relationship to Soviet theorist Mikhail Bakhtin. Meadow’s experiences as a freestyle wrestler in the Russian cities of Vladimir and Suzdal, camping in Northwest Montana for three years, and navigating the British film world while studying at King’s College London have informed his creative decisions while at the Conservatory. He is a native of Chicago’s Southside.
Zilong Liu, cinematographer, graduated from Renmin University of China and University of Miami film school. He has shot a variety different productions in China, US and Europe, including: feature film, shorts, music videos and commercials. He believes that telling a story with camera and light is the most direct and powerful way to reach the emotion and feeling of the audience.
Katia Nájera viale
Katia Nájera was born and raised in Tijuana, México. She graduated with honors from San Diego State University with a BS in Television, Film, and New Media production, with a focus in production design. She was awarded Best Production Design on the 2016 San Diego Student Film Awards for her film AMONG THIEVES. She has also worked as an art department PA for the pilot of THIS IS US and for the first and third season of NBC Universal’s THE GOOD PLACE. She continues to follow her passion for film as an art department researcher for Apple TV’s FOR ALL MANKIND, and will be graduating from AFI in 2018 with a MFA in Production Design.
Yinong Xia graduated from Shanghai University and Shanghai Vancouver Film School, majoring in cinematography and post production. She continues her study of editing in AFI. As a talented editor, she has won several awards for her short films and attended the Hawaii Film Festival. Her working experiences in China, US, Germany and Japan show a real artistic affinity for the varied materials. In addition to that, her editing styles really show the understanding of humanity and a real love of cinema.
